Thursday, February 1st was a big day for ESTECO, with the official opening and ribbon cutting ceremony of its new headquarters at Area Science Park in Trieste, Italy.
We were delighted with the presence of numerous guests and international partners along with representatives of the Regional Government and several media outlets.
During the opening ceremony, prof. Sergio Paoletti, President of AREA Science Park, and Prof. Giorgio Sulligoi, of the University of Trieste, underlined the importance of ESTECO as an example of a successful 'made in Italy' university spin-off. Highlights from their addressed echoed in the regional media.
With a steady yearly growth rate of 10% in terms of staff, the need for relocation to bigger premises had become evident over the last years. The new ESTECO HQs are bigger, more functional and modern. They offer a better work environment to our employees and allow space for further development. Its open space offices spread on three levels, featuring five meeting rooms and a ping pong area. In 2017, the company hired 11 new employees and now counts on 74 professionals including 5 interns and PhD candidates.
“The relocation to new headquarters is an important achievement for us" commented Carlo Poloni, President of ESTECO. "Founded as a spin-off company of the University of Trieste nearly 20 years ago, we are now proud to represent a success story about transforming what started as a research project into a strong, innovative company. Our employees**, with their talent and competencies**, have always been key to this result. That's why we want to offer them a great work environment, fostering creativity and collaboration. With the current trend, we expect to exceed the 100 employees threshold very soon and our new offices are ready to accommodate this growth".
