Students of the Professional Master’s Degree in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering, organized by Aeronautical Technology Institute (ITA) in partnership with EMBRAER will benefit from advanced education on design optimization methods and tools.
ESTECO Academy proudly supports the educational initiative by ITA and EMBRAER by providing modeFRONTIER software license, ESTECO's landmark platform for design optimization. The Professional Master's was created to meet the demand of the EMBRAER - one of the largest aircraft manufactures in the world- for highly skilled human resources. By providing financial support to students and offering education on advanced content the company actively participates in the students preparation and responds to its technological needs.
Launched in 2001 and recognized by the Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoameto de Pessoal de Nível Superior, CAPES), the Program has already trained 24 groups and over 1,400 engineers, offering them a professional master’s diploma in Aeronautical Engineering.
The objective of the two-year Master’s program is to provide the aeronautical industry with highly prepared professionals by offering specialization in Aerodynamics, Propulsion and Energy, Structures and Solid Mechanics, Mechatronics and Aerospace Systems Dynamics. In addition to that, the Program includes a professional training in which the students will develop aircraft design projects whose high-level specifications are defined by Embraer.
“Aircraft design is inherently a multidisciplinary task. So, in the last years, the Program has offered a Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO) course to motivate the students to apply optimization techniques in their projects. The use of modeFRONTIER helps the students to practice the concepts learned during the course in an easy, quick and visual way. Thus, they assimilate better the subject and the pedagogical process becomes more interesting and dynamic. Besides, the application of optimization techniques can lead to better performance, lower costs and more mature designs.”, said Ana Paula Curty Cuco, Research and Development Engineer at Embraer and Scientific Advisor in MDO of the professional training.
“We look forward to learning more about how students will apply our optimization technology in the development of their projects and we wish best of luck to all the prospect graduates”, said Enrico Nobile, ESTECO Scientific Advisor.
